The Impact of Social Media

Social media is a Boon or Curse? Well its difficult to give an answer but both positives & negatives are there.

Now a days we can hardly see a person who dont use Facebook, Twitter & Whatsapp. Right from IT professionals to Terrorist everyone is using. Initially people started using it for Timepass but now it has become essential. 

Many companies using whatsapp group to communicate with their employees, so they can talk about official things 24/7 with their employees. Is it a good sign? In companies view may be the answer is yes but not from the employees view. We are not machines to think only about work 24/7, as a matter of fact this applies to everything not only for work. Our mind need some relaxation that is why we have a office timing. Due to this trend many people gets stress and other health issues. 

I am seeing many school going childrens have a Facebook account. This might sound normal but its very dangerous as facebook is not filtering any of its contents for below 18 years of age. As parent we cannot keep on spying on our children. Childrens post what they are doing where they are going till what time they will be out etc which makes plots like kidnapping or raping a cake walk. Adults also makes the same mistake by posting their child picture in school uniform and caption with "First day of school". Do we really need to do this? What we gonna get by doing these things other than a few likes. We need to make our children understand the consequences of such posts and as grown ups we also should act sensibly by not posting any stupid posts. 

Social media is a good thing. Now a days lots of revolution starts from social media only. When Chennai was facing floods in 2015 social media was of such a help. 

People should use it wisely. It just a communicating tool. Dont get addicted to it. Dont use it to share your problems and your daily happenings unless its harmless in sharing. When it comes to our loved ones and social media give importance only to your loved ones. If we follow these things and use it wisely social media can become a negativeless platform soon. 

The WC Fever

The wish,expectation and prayer of every indian as of now is to clinch the World Cup.

In my opinion with this kind of a captain and team we can never win the cup. A captain should motivate the team, cheer the team, take good decision and should take responsibility but dhoni is acting just the opposite. He is publicly criticizing the players and generously admitting that giving Nehra the last over against South Africa was a mistake. When a tournament is going on he should not air his opinions just like that. If giving Nehra the last over was a mistake why did he pick him in the playing 11? He is asking the players not to play for the gallery, play for the nation. I seriously dont remember when dhoni hit a century and won a game for india lastly. Offlate he is not even scoring 30 runs but talking like as if he has done so much for the team and the rest of the players are not performing. He is just demoralizing the team with his comments. I would like to point a thing here that i am also a fan of dhoni but just because i am his fan i cannot justify his mistakes.

Many people say that whenever Sachin performs the team loses. I feel this is a ridiculous and childish comment. The team as a whole is not performing that's why we lose matches not because Sachin performs. Dhoni, Yuvaraj, Yusuf pathan, Gambhir are not at all performing, comparing to these players Sehwag is little better, he scores a quick 20 or 25 and lose his wicket and take rest. And whatever Sachin scores, bowlers like Zaheer, Chawla, Nehra give it in just 3 overs. But people never complain about these players they talk only about Sachin.

Dean Jones has said "Winning the World cup will remain a dream to Dhoni". I think Dean is absolutely right, with this kind of an irresponsible behavior, Dhoni and his team can never win the Cup.

Last but not the least, like an usual indian cricket fan i wish india to win the cup :)

The Survival of the Fittest

Once Nokia was the leader in Mobile phone but not anymore. Nokia has a simple interface, vast number of models in affordable rate, people were blindly going for Nokia even though many other brands were available like Samsung, Sony, Motorola, Htc etc. Nokia was the unbeatable leader until the entry of Apple and Google.

Why Nokia could not withstand the competition from Apple and Google? The main reason i feel is, its browsing experience is so bad. Now a days everyone has started using mobile for browsing especially youths and they are the one who change their mobile often. Second reason is its OS. It sucks high time so people started going for Android. Third reason is they have only model in touchscreen. As far as i see, everyone wants to have a touchscreen rather than hitting a button.

Unless otherwise Nokia tie up with Google and bring Android and release many models in touchscreen its going to be a tough time for them. Who knows soon Nokia mobiles can become an Antique piece.

The Art of Balancing.

I am going to lay my view on the pros and cons of social networking sites. I think it was in 2005 i first heard of this social networking site called Orkut, from there the journey begins. Some time back Orkut was the leader in India but now Facebook has replaced it. Now a days everyone is having a FB profile like ration card.

First the advantages. 1) In this fast phased life we are not able to keep in touch with people so often, its a difficult thing to contact each and everyone separately, in that case SN is an advantage. Even if you log in for 30mins you can keep in touch with everyone at one place. 2) You can be well aware of what's happening around you because news spreads so fast in these SN sites. 3) If you are talented in something you can share it there and get applause and recognition. 4) It never makes you feel alone.

Now the disadvantages. According to me the only disadvantage i see is, people are getting so much addicted to it. Without their knowledge they slowly start to ignore the real life persons who are around them and start spending too much of time with strangers. For many people FB has become life. These sites are for relaxing not to spend the whole day in it. Many people don't want to accept the fact that they are offending the people around them.

I am not saying that we should not use these sites but we should know how to balance between virtual friends and real life people. If we don't then we are the loser.

SS vs HN

When i happened to see Vijay tv's airtel super singer in 2006 it was just another program in a tv channel, but the popularity it gained in the later stage was enormous. As a singer i know how much of a boon is this show for upcoming singers. Rather winning you get lots of exposure,tips from well established singers etc. But after seeing SS's today's quality i really doubt whether my above points are still valid !! Now a days its not at all looking like a singing competition but like a fashion show. Even the judges are playing their part for the money they get like showing fake anger,tears,biased judgement etc. What to do vijay tv is famous for commercialization. By commercializing the show i feel they lowered the dignity of the show and also failed to retain the success of the show.

After a point i got totally pissed off with SS and started watching Hariyudan naan, i feel it has a standard which SS don't have. By just watching HN you can learn many things, if you know the basics of music. Even this show is little biased when it comes to some participants but its not so blatant and they do give due respect to real talent.

May be from a viewer point of view both SS and HN is just a time pass but in a singer point of view i feel HN is better than SS.

Introduction

Though i am not good at writing, i still wanted to write my thoughts,opinions,the things i feel etc thats all the story behind this blog's birth. The title under the sky itself will explain you that this blog is going to get posts of any kind, i dont want to restrict myself with just one subject.
